Adamu Ciroma has urged the Igbos to drop the bid for the creation of Biafra. In a recent interview with Vanguard, Ciroma, one of the founding fathers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) argued that “Nigeria is too small” to contain the Igbos let alone a portion of the country in the southeast. Ciroma said the Igbos are scattered all over Nigeria and in many parts of the world. He has been criticized for his comments, especially the assumption he makes that if the cessation happens, everyone will pack up and head back at the same time. Many say the premise of his argument is wrong because the world is now global place where migration has become the order of the day.
