Ex-Governor Obi Says States Can Afford To Pay Workers’ Salary

The former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi lends his voice on a call to end the on-going crisis of unpaid state workers’ salary across many states in the country. Obi joins this call few weeks after the former governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu also made similar call to end the misery for state workers. Obi suggests that extravagant spending is the real culprit for the lack of payment of workers’ salary and cautioned that states should prioritize and plan better.
Obi spoke during  the 17th Annual Convention of the Igbo Youth Movement at the Nike Lake Hotel, Enugu yesterday, where he also received the ‘Best Governor Ever,’ award.
